CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS SPECIALIST – SENIOR VOLUNTEERS

Salary: Circa £45,000 per annum

Contract type: Permanent, Full-time, 35 hours/week. We are open to flexible working arrangement i.e., compressed hours

Location: Stratford, London (high flex, working from the office 1-2 days/week)

What will I be doing?

Cancer Research UK’s Partnerships Directorate are privileged to have the support of a prestigious group of senior volunteers who help to drive growth and income for the organisation. Made up of top business leaders, Chief Executives and Chairs, our Corporate Partnerships board members and Senior Advisors help us by facilitating introductions, hosting events, elevating conversations, and sharing their insight.

You will be leading and mobilising the Partnerships Senior Volunteer Network to help secure new long-term, sector-leading, and transformational partnerships, which raise money and awareness for CRUK whilst deliver tangible commercial benefits for our partners.

This role is highly collaborative and will work cross-organisationally to identify and coordinate opportunities where our community of senior volunteers can have the greatest impact for CRUK.

You will take a precise and thoughtful approach to identify, recruit, induct, manage and steward our growing senior volunteer network, ensuring their journey with us is inspiring, professional and drives increased awareness and financial value.

You will be making an impact everyday by...

  • Developing and driving the Partnerships senior volunteer strategic plan and objectives as part of the wider CRUK Volunteer Leader programme.

  • Building and managing strong relationships with the network of senior volunteers who have a primary relationship to Partnerships, including the Corporate Partnerships Board and individual senior advisors.

  • Driving senior volunteer contribution and identify opportunities in Partnerships and across the organisation where they can have an impact for the overall mission of CRUK.

  • Facilitating 40 introductions or endorsements for Partnership’s activity, and 30 introductions for wider CRUK added value i.e., philanthropy, events, trading etc, per year.

  • Holding senior volunteers to account on their commitments and ensure regular feedback is given on results so they see the impact that they are having.

  • Overseeing the senior volunteer network across whole Partnerships department.

  • Building a solid understanding of the Partnerships team’s strategic objectives, priorities, and pipeline.

  • Supporting the Partnerships strategy in seeking insight and introductions linked to New Partnerships target sectors, which includes Pharma, Tech and Financial Services.

  • Seeking out opportunities to recruit new senior volunteers to CRUK. Work closely with the Operations team to research prospective senior volunteers and coordinate the recruitment of identified individuals.

  • Effectively managing the supporter journey for the portfolio of volunteers ensuring a professional and consistent recruitment, induction, management, and stewardship - using tools and processes agreed for the overall senior volunteer programme.

  • Managing the Corporate Partnerships Board activities including two annual meetings, individual meetings, and any volunteer-led events.

  • Evidence of developing influential relationships with high level individual stakeholders

  • Successful networker and proven success in developing and leveraging instrumental relationships to positively influence partnerships

  • Strong knowledge and experience of both corporate, organisational, and voluntary sectors

  • A working knowledge of the principles of corporate fundraising, sponsorship, and marketing

  • Demonstrable passion for High Value Fundraising and Partnerships

  • Excellent presentation, proposal, and report-writing skills

  • Exceptional listening skills and effective written and oral communication skills; an inspiring and engaging communication style

  • Highly professional, flexible, and committed to going above and beyond the remit of the role to achieve and exceed targets

  • Highly organised
