Do you love dogs? Are you an experienced major donor fundraiser? Can you help us make a difference in your community?

We are looking for a Major Gifts Officer with experience of working with high-net-worth individuals, to join our passionate and ambitious team across South-West England and Wales and help us raise vital funds for our work with stray and abandoned dogs.

Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK with a nationwide network of rehoming centres and charity shops. Last year, Dogs Trust centres cared for over 15,000 dogs; we never put a healthy dog down.

We are proud of the work we do in South-West England and Wales with our Rehoming Centres in Bridgend and Cardiff as well Salisbury and Ilfracombe. We also promote dog welfare and encourage responsible Dog ownership within the community, we are also hoping to expand our outreach programmes such as the Freedom project which recently launched in Wales. But with your help we can do even more!

We are reliant on voluntary donations to continue expansion of our work. As part of this, Dogs Trust receives some large donations from charitable trusts/foundations, corporate partners, and wealthy individuals. You will be responsible for stewarding existing donors based in the South-West and Wales and recruiting new high-net worth supporters through creative engagement techniques and development of bespoke, personalised communications. The role will require collaboration with senior staff and senior volunteers at Dogs Trust to support major donor approaches.

With a proven track record of personally securing major gifts from individuals you will be an excellent communicator capable of engaging with different audiences. Confident to pick up the phone and contact new prospects you will have the ability to research and match criteria from donors to Dogs Trust activities and events.

In return, we have a comprehensive benefits package, which includes excellent annual leave and pension allowances. If you have a genuine passion for dog welfare and are looking to join a team of professional and driven colleagues in an upbeat and collaborative environment, please apply now.
