Are you passionate about social justice with a strong record of meeting financial targets in a challenging climate? Are you as comfortable digging into the detail of projects as relationship-building? Do you want to work with a driven and collaborative team who believe that everyone deserves access to life's essentials and that no useable product should go to waste? Do you want to affect the lives of 250,000 people every week?

About In Kind Direct:

In Kind Direct is the UK charity providing a simple solution to connect companies and their products to thousands of charities, community groups and schools and the communities, families and individuals they support. Together we make a difference to 250,000 people each week. We are an enabler, supporting local organisations to do more for less, whilst making it easy for companies and brands to have a positive social impact with the products they make and sell.

Having to choose whether to eat, heat or keep clean is a reality for too many people. With 15m people living in poverty in the UK, more households are having to make difficult choices every day. When someone is unable to stay clean, safe and well it dramatically affects their self-esteem, wellbeing and sense of belonging. Since being founded by HRH The Prince of Wales in 1996, we’ve:

  • Unlocked £270m of savings into the charity sector
  • Diverted 31,800 tonnes of usable products from going to waste
  • Supported over 11,400 charitable organisations

We make giving easy, creating powerful partnerships enabling more communities to thrive

The role

This is an exciting opportunity to join us at the start of our growth journey. The Philanthropy Partnerships Manager will work as part of a motivated and dynamic Partnerships and Impact Team. This new team ensures our impact, fundraising, voice and financial health are aligned. You will be responsible for nurturing and developing funder relationships, drawing insight from across the organisation to build on our strategy and create compelling cases for support.

We are seeking an experienced partnerships manager with excellent communication skills and success achieving financial targets, ideally across a range of philanthropic income streams. You will also work closely with our Commercial Team, who are responsible for securing income through trading, ecommerce and most of our corporate partnerships. At the core of this role is generating the necessary income to fund In Kind Direct’s current services, as well as developing and securing funding for innovative projects to meet more of the needs of those we serve.

You will be a champion of our impact, and work with the Leadership Team and trustees to engage supporters. Confident working independently, you will be able to identify quick wins while progressing long term plans for sustainable income growth. You will have determination and enthusiasm, as well as excellent communication skills, being able to build rapport and inspire confidence. You will be adept at planning and prioritising, and appreciate the challenges and rewards of a small team! At a time of growth and innovation at In Kind Direct, your skills will help deliver our strategy, look out further, and cement our resilience for the future.

As In Kind Direct develops and grows, there is scope for line management responsibility for this post.

We are an equal opportunities employer and are committed to recruiting and developing the best available talent.
