About us

As the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of services to disabled people, we believe disabled people should have the freedom to live their lives the way they choose – with the opportunity and support to live independently, to contribute economically and to participate fully in society.

With 5,000 staff and 10,000 volunteers supporting nearly 70,000 people in the UK and around the world, Leonard Cheshire provides support to 3,200 people in a variety of UK living services including supported living, nursing, and day centre facilities.  We also support 12,000 young people in the UK with skills, confidence, and employment programmes.  Internationally, we are a specialist development non-governmental organisation, delivering inclusive education, youth leadership and access to livelihoods programmes to more than 50,000 people in 15 countries across Asia and Africa.

About the role

We are looking to recruit a dynamic individual to join the Regional and Corporate Fundraising team at Leonard Cheshire. The team works to raise awareness of Leonard Cheshire both locally and nationally and raise funds for our services and programmes supporting disabled people.

You will be responsible for prospecting and building an income pipeline with a view to securing fundraised income to support unrestricted and restricted funding. The key focus will be corporate engagement identifying CSR, charity partnership, corporate volunteering, GIK and local corporate grant funds. This exciting role offers both the opportunity to develop new business and account management skills. The role will require in-person communication throughout the north east region on a regular basis so good access to the area is essential.

We seek candidates with a genuine commitment to our values and ethos.

About you

You must be efficient, organised, and pro-active with strong communication skills. In this corporate focused role, you will secure new partnerships with large UK and Global companies across a diverse range of sectors.

You will have experience applying for funding from corporates and trusts and stewarding those relationships. You will be an effective communicator and customer focussed individual. Many of our activities also rely on working across departments and will require someone with a confident manner who can work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation.

We seek candidates with a genuine commitment to our values and ethos.

Benefits

• Substantial annual leave.
• A generous employer contribution to a company pension scheme with additional life cover.
