Love146 has created this exciting new role of Grants and Fundraising Co-ordinator to lead on building Love146’s income via Trust and Foundations, corporate and individual donors, and oversee activity and events Fundraising.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following activities are intended as a guide to the main responsibilities of the post and are not an exhaustive list of duties and tasks. The post-holder may be required to undertake other duties that are not listed below, at the direction of the Director of Operations.
 

1. Planning

  • Ensure that the Love146 pool of prospective funders is continually refreshed and strengthened, through the management of on-going research about potential funders
  • Work closely with the senior management team to ensure that all have the correct tools to
    promote good practice in working with trust, Foundations and corporate fundraising

2. Income Generation and Reporting

  • Research funders, identify and pursue new partnership opportunities
  • Develop, write and submit targeted funding applications to raise income from trusts and foundations (existing and new funders)
  • Monitor developments in trusts and foundations giving
  • Ensure fundraising records and kept up to date  
  • Ensure all grant monitoring reports are filed on time and in liaison with the Finance Manager
  • Produce regular reports, income analysis and briefings for the SMT

3. Relationship Building and Management

  • Ensure that relationships and processes with corporate donors, trusts and foundations and are managed to the highest professional standards, and that Love146 builds inspirational and tailored relationships with all of our prospective and existing donors
  • Ensure that funding partners receive the appropriate level and quality of publicity and acknowledgement, across all Love146 digital, social media and other marketing and communication channels

4. Events and Activities Fundraising

  • Develop and deliver plans to recruit and support participants for a range of challenge and other events, overseeing the project management, logistics marketing and promotion of activities and participants
  • Deliver supporter care to maximize engagement with our supporters

5. General Responsibilities

  • Represent and be an ambassador for Love 146
  • Be flexible and carry out other associated duties as may arise, develop or be assigned in line with the broad remit of the position
  • Work Collaboratively with others in all aspects of our work

PERSON SPECIFICATION

EXPERIENCE

- Recent in depth experience of Trusts and Foundations fundraising
- Recent experience of challenge or activity fundraising from individuals
- Creating new, or applying alternative fundraising mechanisms, in a not-for-profit setting
- Growing sustainable net income support from, and managing ongoing relationships with, at least two of the following areas: trusts, corporate donors; individuals
- Managing funding and contractual agreements across a range of funders
- Producing and delivering fundraising plans

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

- Adopt a solution-focused approach and make decisions under pressure  
- Implement and promote organisational decisions and policies positively
- Warm interpersonal skills and the ability to build long term and positive relationships
- Persuasive communication skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to communicate with a wide range of people
- Ability to represent Love146 on a range of issues and in a range of situations which involves dealing with people at all levels
- Clear and precise writing skills; including evidence of producing reports, policies and tenders
- Budget management and financial skills
- IT skills at a level that supports report writing, email, internet and database management

KNOWLEDGE

- Regulatory requirements and best practice policy and guidance relating to:  
   o Fundraising governance and best practice
   o Data Protection compliance form a fundraising perspective
   o Event, community and digital fundraising
   o Trusts and Foundations fundraising
- Role and nature of the voluntary sector and some of the challenges it faces, including funding; voice; advocacy; delivery
- Understanding of the range of funding opportunities available for the refugee, asylum and adoption sectors

EDUCATION/TRAINING

- No one specific qualification is required, but evidence of recent continuing professional
development in a professional area relevant to the post is required. (ie. fundraising, data
protection)
