Fundraising Officer

We are seeking a Fundraising Officer to play a key role in a small fundraising team, working with an environmental not-for-profit organisation that targets the market forces destroying nature.

The charity is at the heart of a global movement to change markets by making their impacts and dependencies on nature more transparent and accountable.

Position: Fundraising Officer

Location: Oxford office- based OR home-based, with regular travel to Oxford

Salary: Circa £30k depending on experience

Contract: Permanent, the charity is willing to be entirely flexible on hours for the right candidate and will consider full-time, part-time, compressed hours etc.

About the role:

As Fundraising Officer you will have a focus on researching and applying to new trusts and grants for funding and reporting to existing funders on impact and performance. There will also be scope to help with other fundraising avenues including major donor events and regular giving, as the charity seeks to scale up these functions, in line with overall organisational growth.

This is an important area of work, and bringing in core costs/ unrestricted income is increasingly important in a sector where programmatic grants come now with increasingly reduced overheads. You will need to immerse yourself in the work of the charity in order to be able to report on impact across the various projects and put together strong and persuasive funding applications.

Key responsibilities:

• Trusts and Grants Management 65% - Responsible for researching, writing and submitting new

trust and grants applications to funders

• Other fundraising support 15% - Help with other fundraising activities as and when required, such as Major Donor events
• Restricted fundraising support 20% - Coordinating the operationalisation of the restricted income strategy

About you:

The role of Fundraising Officer would suit a seasoned Fundraiser or even a recent graduate with relevant work experience and excellent writing skills. The most important thing is that you bring with you the motivation and enthusiasm to make the role a success, along with you the essential skills and experience:

• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Proven interest in climate change /environmental issues / sustainability
• Experience of fundraising in any form
• Computer/IT skills - Google Workspace / Microsoft Office
• Ability to work collaboratively with others and build relationships with funders
