About the role

Parkinson’s UK is powered by the Parkinson’s community and how we work for, with, and alongside the community is embedded in many areas of our work. This role is crucial in communicating and increasing how the charity is influenced by the voices of those with Parkinson’s and their loved ones. 

Supporting charity staff to connect, build their knowledge, and grow confidence in participatory ways of working and increasing the variety of ways the charity mobilises the skills of the Parkinson’s community. You will lead a team that works across the charity to connect current projects, lead a community of practice, and design a monitoring and evaluation framework. 

The team is supportive and flexible, with both part-time and full-time staff within in. The work spans across the charity meaning you will work across all areas of the charity and get to experience the breadth of the participation & involvement work across the nations and specialisms.

What’ll you do

  • You will ensure the effective support, overview and connection of the charity’s involvement programme, working across directorates and teams to bring the ways we work with the Parkinson’s community together

  • Create ways for the  charity to share this part of our work and to attract more members of the Parkinson’s community to take part

  • You will  design and implement the  monitoring and evaluation of involvement and the value it brings across the charity

  • Lead and develop the cross charity Co-creation community of practice, with an emphasis on embedding learning and support across the charity

What you’ll bring

  • Experienced in leading projects or teams to contribute to a strategic vision, with strong creative facilitation skills.

  • Experience of shaping programme design, Involvement strategies and evaluation framework

  • Confident in understanding a range of involvement frameworks, and when best they might be applied.

  • Experience of leading a team in a charity, working across different teams or directorate
