We are PEAS. We believe that every child matters. We are passionate about delivering quality education at a low cost, so that we are able to educate children in the poorest rural communities and replicate our model to reach others across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Founded in 2008, we opened our first school in Uganda and now have 32 schools across Uganda and Zambia, educating over 15,000 students.

Everything we do contributes to our three impact pillars;

  • Access - providing education to those who need it most
  • Quality - working tirelessly to ensure our students make exceptional progress, and
  • Sustainability - running our schools so they can become self-sustaining

This is an exciting period of growth for PEAS as we launch our new global strategy, Growing PEAS Schools. Supporting All Schools. We intend to grow our school networks to double their size, launch in a third country and expand our wider impact by strengthening education systems.

Yes, it is ambitious. Yes, it is exciting. Yes, it will be challenging

But if ever there was a time for action, the time is now. We know that inequitable access, poor quality and insufficient resources continue to prevent millions of children from enjoying an education that unlocks their full potential. This has only been exacerbated by the COVID pandemic, bringing even more barriers for the children and families struggling the most.

The Opportunity

As Partnerships Officer, you will be working in three core areas

  1. Business development
  2. Funder stewardship
  3. External communications

You’ll be supporting the delivery of our new income strategy working on new and exciting initiatives such as

  • Capital fundraising campaigns to build new schools
  • Launching of a new Giving Circle
  • Raising PEAS profile as leaders in secondary education

This is a key role in delivering our new income strategy that will ultimately mean more young people gaining access to quality secondary education

What we need

We’re looking for a fundraiser. Ideally, someone who wants to build on their experience of working with a range of funders such as Corporates, Trusts & Foundations, High Net Worth Individuals and Institutions or with knowledge and experience of new business and account management either in the NfP or commercial sector. We are looking for a driven individual who is looking for a dynamic role where they can work in collaboration with others and get hands on experience of leading and delivering their own projects.

Whilst experience in the international education sector is not essential, a passion for improving the life chances of all children through educational opportunity is.
