About us

We’re the expert voice and leading source of information and advice for people affected by spinal cord injury (SCI). For over 45 years, we’ve been supporting spinal cord injured people and representing the wider SCI community to government and other decisionmakers. Our work in campaigning, education and support is based on the personal experiences of our members.

Our membership continues to grow, and we represent more than 13,000 people. Our belief is that everyone has a right to live a fulfilled life and that means the life they choose, a life that has the same opportunities as everyone else’s.

Role Requirements

To grow, diversify and strengthen SIA’s income from charitable trusts and individual donors to achieve a projected income target of £700k per year. Working with the Head of Investments and Partnerships, to develop and deliver trust and individual donor development strategies, and to manage and motivate a high-performing team of three including line management of the Trusts Coordinator and Donor Development Coordinator. Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Propositions: To create compelling funding propositions that reflect SIA’s service delivery priorities.
  • Project Development: To contribute to the development of SIA’s charitable services, by providing knowledge and expertise relating to external funding opportunities, priorities, and trends.
  • Income: To maximise income raised from charitable trusts and individual donors.
  • Relationships: To manage and grow a network of trusts and donors who are financially, actively, and emotionally engaged with SIA.
