The commitment of a trustee is approximately two meetings per quarter, plus two full days a year. Most of our meetings are currently held remotely, in the future we are hoping to meet in person for occasional meetings.

The Board of Trustees is responsible for supervising the management and administration of the charity and provides strategic leadership, counsel, and advice to the Executive Team.  Trustees will need to have the ability to balance being a critical friend, challenging and scrutinising performance, while coaching and developing the Executive Team to be the best they can be.

We are looking for a professional with senior / board level experience who has:

  • Demonstrable experience in developing and delivering income generation strategies in a charitable setting.
  • Drive and ambition to support the fundraising and retail teams to innovate their income generation potential.
  • Commercial acumen and an appetite for forging new business opportunities and relationships.
  • Working knowledge of how brand, stakeholder engagement and communication strategies can positively impact on income generation.
  • Solid understanding of the importance of governance, regulations, and compliance in a fundraising context and/or charity retail settings.

Board members are invited to serve a four-year term and are eligible for re-appointment for one additional term.

We are keen for our Board to reflect the communities we serve, and very much welcome applications from those with relevant lived experience, and candidates from all underrepresented communities and groups.
