We are looking to recruit a proven and talented fundraiser to lead and manage our community fund raising activities, to initiate and maintain our corporate partnerships and to prepare and submit grant applications. In doing so, the successful candidate will develop and execute our fundraising strategy, enabling the Olive Tree to raise sufficient funds to maintain and extend the provision of our important services. He/she will be given the scope to further develop the role with a view to increasing its positive impact on the future achievements and success of our charity.

We require an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual having excellent communication skills coupled with an ability to initiate and maintain relationships across a wide range of stakeholders and supporters. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven track record covering fundraising events, grant applications and corporate partnerships management. Whilst it would be ideal to have knowledge of health sector charities, this is not essential.

This is a full-time role at 37.5 hours (5 days) per week. You will be based in Horsham. Dependant on experience, salary is between £25k and £30k per annum; annual leave is 22 days plus bank holidays. As some of our fundraising events are at weekends you will be expected to be available to support our volunteers at these events on an agreed basis with time off given in lieu. The Olive Tree is an independent, self-supporting charity set up, initially in Crawley, to provide people affected by cancer with support and high-quality information, available from the point of diagnosis through treatment and beyond. Our valued services include a wide range of complementary therapies, counsellingcoaching, emotional support, a wig service, fitness and well-being classes, a range of workshops and cancer specific support groups. To significantly expand our patient coverage and capacity, we have now additionally established our services in Horsham. Whilst most these are delivered through our team of volunteers fundraising is critical to cover our increasing costs and thus securing the ongoing successful operations of the charity. We are very proud to have recently been awarded the coveted Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS).
