This role offers a fantastic opportunity to support cutting edge research, education and innovation that transforms and saves lives.

The University of Dundee is at the forefront of research into major disease in Scotland and across the world – including cancer, Parkinson’s and Covid 19. Every day you will be making a difference to incredible work undertaken by top University academics and scientists by sourcing income for these and other programmes via major donations, gifts, and legacies. This money is often the crucial element that fuels scientific breakthroughs in these medical fields. In addition, you will transform the lives of our students by ensuring finance is never a barrier to the benefits a University of Dundee education offers.

If you are an amazing relationship/ stakeholder manager with the drive, energy, and enthusiasm to build connections that bring tangible financial results, this job could be for you.

You may have charitable, public, or private sector experience. You may have worked in business development or sales. You may already have experience or knowledge of philanthropy or donor giving but it is not essential.

The key will be that you are:

  • able to demonstrate excellent customer relationship management experience gained in a funding or sales setting and
  • have a willingness and enthusiasm to transfer these skills to the world of University philanthropy and donor giving so you are able to cultivate relationships and achieve ambitious income targets.

You will also be outgoing - passionate, credible, focused, and confident in how you present to stakeholders. And you will be skilled in the use of key communications tools needed to support these activities, including social media channels and CRM systems. You will also be excited by the challenge that high level income generation brings.

The rewards are significant. You will be part of a committed, skilled and close-knit team at the heart of the University’s External Relations and Alumni Relations Department - a team that recognises and nurtures talent every day. On top of a generous package that includes a 21.4% employer contributory pension; 39 days leave and the opportunity for global travel you will have the satisfaction of knowing you are helping to build a world class University that places social value and making a difference to the lives of people and communities at its core.

This is a rare and unique opportunity to make a real difference to the work and legacy of a great Scottish University with a global vision. If you believe you have what it takes to build success, please consider this as your next career move.
