This role offers the opportunity to get into the charity sector or to develop your skills across a broad range of activities in fundraising and working with volunteers. A generous training programme is available to the right candidate, for example a Level 3 Fundraising Apprenticeship leading to membership of the Institute of Fundraising. This role reports to the CEO who is an experienced fundraiser and volunteer coordinator.

About the role:

This role aims to ensure that Vision North Somerset has growing income from community fundraising and that the charity has a growing volunteers cohort to support local people with visual impairment.

While there is flexibility, it is envisioned that the role will have three days a week focussing on Fundraising and two days a week focussing on Volunteer Coordination.

Fundraising work will build on existing community and general fundraising using a clear plan for 2024 including: sponsored events, regular givers, appeal letters, online and mobile giving, small local grants and corporate funders, collections and collection boxes.

This role will support the CEO to develop the gifts-in-wills and in-memory giving programme and a small major donor programme. Larger grants are the responsibility of the CEO and an external trust fundraiser.

Volunteer Coordination will include recruitment, induction and basic training, reward and recognition and supporting staff in case of any issues. We currently have around 40 volunteers and are looking to grow.

Details:

This role is full time (37 hours). Role is office-based at 3 Neva Road, Weston-Super-Mare with flexible hours and occasional home working by negotiation. Occasional out-of-hours work may be required, and time-in-lieu will be given.

Regular travel around North Somerset is required, and mileage is paid. We are happy to support Access to Work applications if appropriate.

Permanent contract with a six-month probation period.
