World Villages for Children is fundraising to end childhood poverty through education.

Set up in 1998, the charity is based in London and funds education places for the world's most impoverished children in the Philippines, Guatemala, Mexico, Brazil, Honduras and Tanzania. In schools run by the Sisters of Mary humanitarian programmes, each year 20,000 destitute children receive care and education. So far over 150,000 children have been helped out of poverty but millions more families and communities have been reached.

We are seeking an experienced and talented Fundraising and Comms Manager to support us and lead the fundraising strategy for our charity. As we embark on a rebrand, new messaging and website you will be joining us at an exciting time as we diversify income and develop our focus on individual giving and philanthropy.

This senior management role will work closely with the UK Manager, trustees and team. It includes close contact and collaboration with the overseas programmes and our beneficiaries and represents a great opportunity for a resourceful fundraiser who wants to innovate, grow the profile of the charity and generate immediate impact at scale.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of fundraising and communications and managing content across all channels including digital. Your fundraising expertise should include a proven track record of attracting and managing a portfolio of income including writing proposals, negotiating and delivering partnerships with, and funds from, charitable trusts and foundations, major donors and corporates. We particularly support applications for this role from those with first-hand experience or links to the communities where we work.

For this hands on role you will need to enjoy working in a small, committed team, be comfortable working at pace in a busy environment and be keen to take on new opportunities as they arise. You will be juggling responsibility for managing key donor relationships, developing new partnership opportunities and reporting to funders. With attention to detail and excellent written, verbal and numeracy skills, you will have the negotiation and strategic management skills to co-ordinate the development of strategy and to monitor budgets.

If you’re a results focused self-starter, with the big picture in mind, hands-on brilliant with people, cultivating and managing a prospect pipeline, managing partnerships and closing the deal, this could be the role for you.
