Job purpose: To support the generation of funds from charitable trusts, statutory bodies and corporates for YMCA East Surrey core costs, existing projects and new developments.

Main responsibilities

u To carry out research into charitable trusts and grant making bodies, including statutory organisations, to identify appropriate existing and new funders to support YMCA projects and core costs.

u To undertake the administration surrounding all donations, including the acknowledgement and recording of all donations and the sending of thank you letters.

u To liaise with senior projects managers in order to prepare information and write bids and grant applications as coordinated by the Fundraising and Development Manager and in line with fundraising targets.

u To help ensure donor reporting requirements are met by preparing written and financial reports as required, liaising with the Marketing Manager if necessary over publicity and ensuring managers know of reporting deadlines where they are responsible for reporting.

u To liaise with the Finance department over successful grant applications to ensure payments are tracked appropriately.

u To support the development of good stewardship of donor relationships to encourage continued funding growth.

u To help maintain the database of donors (currently on eTapestry), ensure it is kept up to date and run regular reports on fundraising activity.

u To assist in organising donor meetings and events, such as opening ceremonies, the AGM and one to one meetings.

u To support the development of corporate, legacy and major donor giving if these areas are taken forward.

u To undertake such other tasks as may be allocated from time to time.

Hours of work: 21 hours per week, over a minimum of 3 week days and within 9:00 – 17:00. Please state your preference on your application form; however, the working days of the Fundraising and Development Manager (Tuesday to Thursday) will also be taken into account, as that is also a part time role.

Location: YMCA Sports & Community Centre, Redhill, this will be flexible with some home working

Salary / pay rate: £24,000 – 28,000 FTE (£14,400 - £16,800 for 21 hours per week) depending on experience

Annual leave: Four weeks (pro-rata) plus bank holidays. Holidays increase after two years service to a maximum of five weeks pro-rata after six years service. The holiday year runs from 1 April to 31 March each year.
