At Youth Access, we believe that young people shouldn’t have to wait until crisis point to get help. They should never be told they are “not sick enough” to access services. They should get support early with everything from mental health to housing, money and relationships, all under one roof. Join us to bring about a transformation so that all young people can access free, local, youth-friendly advice and counselling services that support them on their journey into adulthood.

Do you have experience bringing people and organisations together to create new and exciting partnerships? Can you take an idea, develop a case for support and secure funding? If so, we would love to hear from you.

This is an exciting time to join Youth Access. Our new strategy is focusing on what we're good at, and with young people’s mental health in the spotlight in the wake of the pandemic, there’s huge opportunity to achieve change. We have a solid track record of securing significant grants from trusts and foundations and are looking for an ambitious fundraiser to build on this success. You will use your initiative to help grow and diversify our income, to improve sustainability and achieve our strategic goals. You will work creatively and collaboratively, with the Youth Access team, our 160+ members across the country and national partners to develop impactful projects and successful proposals. You will secure funding that supports our policy, campaigns and advocacy work; youth participation and social action; membership, service and practice development programmes; and evaluation and research. We want to develop a corporate fundraising portfolio and in time this would be something you could develop from the ground up. This is a newly created role, with scope for the right person to shape it. Sharing our values, understanding a rights-based approach and valuing young people’s lived experience are essential.

We encourage applications from people from all walks of life, including disabled and male candidates who are currently under-represented in our staff team. We would also welcome applications from people with lived experience of youth and/or mental health services. As part of the second round of this application process (see below), we will ask candidates to tell us how their experience enables them to relate to the complex and intersecting challenges faced by young people accessing our members’ services, including those from marginalised groups.

Flexible working options available.

If you would like an informal conversation about the role, please see the job description document for how to arrange this.
